FAA Compliance Made Easy with a U.S. Agent for Service

Navigating the Regulations
As of October 2024, FAA regulations require that all international certificate holders must designate a U.S. Agent—someone that legally handles all communication with the FAA
Pilots & Mechanics - Any FAA certificate holder under Parts 47, 61, 63, 65, 67 or 107
Aircraft Owners - To keep active aircraft registration
Drone Operators - Holding a Part 107 certificate
April 2nd, 2025: New certificate applicants must designate an agent before issuance
July 7th, 2025: Existing certificate holders must comply or their certificates become ineffective
What Happens If You Don't Comply?
Without an Agent, You're at Risk of Losing Everything You've Worked For.
This regulation is not optional, and failing to comply has serious consequences. Without a Designated U.S. Agent, you may face:
Invalidation
Your certificate becomes invalid, meaning you cannot legally operate, work, or maintain aircraft ownership.
FAR Violation
Operating under an invalid certificate is a FAR violation, and can be placed on your airmen history report.
Legal Lapses
Waiting too long to designate an agent can create backlogs and processing delays, keeping you grounded longer.

What is a Designated Agent for Service?
A designated agent for service is your trusted wingman for FAA compliance—standing in as your official U.S. representative to keep you connected, informed, and protected, no matter where you are in the world.

Your FAA certificate becomes invalid until an agent is designated and entered into the FAA system, preventing you from legally using, operating or working under that certificate. Any applications for new certificates or medical renewals will be denied until the FAA receives your agent designation.
Designations are initiated by the certificate holder using the usas.faa.gov website. Our step-by-step pictorial guide walks you through the FAA submission process. You will enter your agent’s details online through that website, and we take care of the rest, keeping the process as simple as possible.
The FAA requires you to update your agent information within 30 days of any changes, which is performed through the usas.faa.gov portal. If for any reason you need to switch to a different agent, contact us and we will help you with the transfer process.
Expedited international shipping costs upwards of $75 per envelope one-way. These documents have to clear through customs and sometimes go through additional services to comply with multi-lateral treaties. These costs get included in your plan, potentially saving you hundreds per year.
Official notices sent by the FAA often come with response deadlines that can be as short as two business days. Failing to meet these deadlines can lead to FAR violations. This is one of the reasons behind the creation of FAR Part 3, Subpart C, which mandates the designation of U.S. Agents.
Yes, you can change between plans or cancel your plan at any time. If you decide to cancel, you must designate a new agent to remain FAA compliant. Contact us if you would like to change or cancel your plan, and we will help you through the process.
